Shipping documents, 1798 June 30.

Consisting of documents clearing passage from Charleston, S.C., to Havanna, Cuba, for Stephen Lacoste's two-masted brigantine, the Thomas, including inventory listing food stuffs, fortified wines, dry goods, and luxury items, and identifying products belonging to Lacoste, and other investors, including Francis Depan, Thomas Mitchell, Thomas Simons, and Obediah Folger, captain of the ship. One document includes signatures from officials in the British and French consul's offices, Benjamin Moore, and Etienne Cairoche, acknowledging that "the present belligerent powers" had no claim or right to the property.
